The "Women in Transitions" workshop, led with a gentle guiding hand by Narkiss Sternberg, allowed the group to explore their individual emotional landscapes using a variety of materials, from clay to paint to collage - as well as reflective writing. Each person was given the respect and space to allow for intense self-discovery because Narkiss created an atmosphere of trust and support. It was never about judging the product of these artistic investigations, but rather for each participant to gain meaningful insights by examining what the process and product revealed under the surface.

The first thing I appreciated about Narkiss was her friendliness and tone. It was one of respect and excitement, commitment and presence, so that we could look forward to trying something new each week together. I valued how she helped establish boundaries and helped us create a safe space or container for us to honor and respect our own and each other’s processes. I loved that we could explore, and play, light-heartedly, and we watched our actual art emerge…. I also appreciated how Narkiss showed us how to use different materials week to week, simplicity made things more transparent, clear directions saved time, and we also came in and out of a sharing circle. The variety of the processes was fun and engaging. We used clay, music –making and listening, collage, mandalas, or dance`/ movement, or painting, touch drawing, and writing in response to what we created. She reminded us that things we made did not need to “look good’. This freed me up to play and try new things easily!

Narkiss, the facilitator, skillfully provided guidance in a trusting and safe environment for students to dig deep and express themselves freely through the art. What I found valuable about the workshop was that it allowed me to take time to understand my feelings and my thoughts, which I otherwise never thought to do or had the time for. The beauty of the workshop was that our art pieces were not critiqued; rather they used as a vehicle to reflect our inner landscape. I enjoyed the workshop and looked forward to each week's session. It was fun, meaningful, self-discovery and each session felt like it was a gift to myself and I encourage other women to try it!

Woman In Transition workshop was a great path for self-exploration. Narkiss created an inviting, safe, nonjudgmental space. Under her guidance, through the creative process and use of a wide range of modalities & art media, we were able to reach deeper insights, release old tensions and enjoy replenished energies. Thank you for the opportunity.

I would highly recommend Narkiss Sternberg to be an Expressive Arts coach anytime! She engaged my curiosity and gently supported and fanned my desire to express my whole self. This workshop allowed me time and space to play in a sacred and fun way and to get to know my own impulses and way of proceeding. I enjoyed witnessing and hearing others who value the magic in making art freely, celebrating our humanity and affirming the collective, universal, creative spirit. Thank you Narkiss, it is a great gift to be of service to artists and others who wish to awaken others into the lights of their own expanding awareness, safely, and skillfully. I witnessed you coaching each person and honoring the collective creativity and the power in a group. This experience helped me value my own process even more. I grew! The desire to express my whole self, create beauty, and create spontaneously, was deeply enjoyed and affirmed, thank you.
